Everyone who signs up is in the show. First rehearsal auditions are for placement of characters within the show. Our directors often give actors multiple roles and characters within each run of a production. Our goal opportunity and success in both learning and performing!
Learn, Rehearse, and have fun!
Rehearsals are approximately 6-8 weeks teaching our young actors songs, choreography, character acting, and how to work together, trust each other, and support each other in order to create the best performance possible.
Usually, rehearsals are Tuesday & Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings.
JD Theatricals shows always perform at least 2 weekends of shows with 4 shows per weekend. We want each actor to have lots of opportunities in different roles. The first weekend is showing what they have learned in rehearsals -- following weekends allow them to improve upon their characters and grow in their performances.
Once the show is Cast -there are no refunds. In the event of unforeseeable conflicts - you can ask for a credit in tuition towards a future show.
Tuition: per actor
We are in the process of redoing our tuition model. We are setting up a program that will allow actors to pay a deposit.... and make payments so the cost of Tuition is not so burdensome.
We have already lowered the cost of tickets for our junior shows to $15 for all seats to make it easier and more affordable for our parents, family and friends to attend.
We are in the process of coordinating new discounts for for multiple family members (same household) to make Tuition more affordable. In addition, we are adding discounts for 1st time actors to our program and referral discounts for existing actors.
We are putting together a way to apply for scholarships for assistance in cases of financial hardships. We will have an application and the board will review each application and make recommendations.
Volunteering makes our shows better and keeps the price down in this expensive Orange County Market.
We are in the process of coordinating our volunteers policy and making the process easy to sign up for - and keep track of. We want our actors/families to get the most out of our program without a burdening time commitments and extensive costs.
Please be patient as we finalize our plans and announce them for our 2020 season of shows.
